Rotterdam is one of the larger cities in Netherlands and very multicultural with plenty to see and eat.
I recently stayed in Rotterdam for a couple of months. Being Vegan wasn’t that hard, especially when eating out. They have a large indoor food market (The Markthal) which has various food and drink units. You can get some vegan options there.
I have collated a list of some vegan/ vegan friendly restaurants in Rotterdam.
Leaf Vegetarian – Vegan (90%) Asian food. Has a broad selection a lot of the dishes use meat substitutes – my Favorite was the Thai Green curry with vegan chicken.
Jack Bean – Vegan food – Serves Burger, wraps and bowls. It’s a small standalone unit just Infront of Rotterdam centraal station. It has a small selection; the food is very fresh and tasty. My favorite is the Ultimate Burger and the corn salsa and tostones (fried Tortillas). They have a small eating area in inside and out.
Spirit – Vegan/ vegetarian – The restaurant is link to the supermarket. There is also a branch in Amsterdam. Buffet style eating and the food is paid by weight. They have a varied and wide selection of food from salads, hot foods, tapas, and desserts and fruit. Very tasty but be careful have much you choose its extremely easy to pick a little of everything but will be expensive.
Sugo – Pizza – they have a selection of vegan friendly pizza slices, it’s a good idea to choose a few different slices.
Bagel and Beans – Very good for a quick snack. Great drinks and bagels with a choice for vegans. I personally prefer the Chickpea pleasure (hummus, avocado, Alfalfa, dukkah herbs, tomatoes, and lettuce) and the Golden almond drink – cold.
Vegan Junk Food Bar – Very good for burgers. They also have a varied selection. Good as a treat portions are large and very tasty. My favorites are the Kapsalon (Shawarma, French fries, Cheeze, jalapeños, red peppers, garlic & VJFB™ sauce) and the ”Daddy”(Crunchy No Wing strips on a pinky bun, Cheeze, lettuce, tomato, spring & crispy onion mix, pickles, Daddy sauce)
